Day 20.. Paul is HERE! Drive to Westport Mayo

Got up at 7:30... worked on my school work while having coffee. Cleaned the apartment and prepared Pauls bedroom

Caught the bus to the square to pick up the car I had reserved.. a mentally challenged woman smiled at me and said "nice and brown!" referring to my tanned skin.. although she had to repeat it three times as I didnt understand her accent at first. So cute! 

At Budget Rental I immediately request that we get a car with Air Con. they quickly replied that there was no way they could guarantee that but as "luck" would have it.. I got one WITH air con. Thank you LORD!

I walked across the road to the bus station and asked one of the bus drivers where bus 51 would come in. At first he had me worried when he pointed to an empty parked bus to say that, that was it. About 5 minutes passed and the 51 arrived. I searched the windows looking for Paul but could not see him. As people filed down the aisle and got off I began to feel my eyes well up with tears. I dont know why? was it because I was so afraid he had missed the bus or was it because the anticipation of seeing my best friend had come after 20 days?
Paul got off the bus. Walking toward me he went to put his arm around me but I said I couldn't... Didn't want to start bawling right there. We headed over to the "car park" and to my delight it was beautiful and luxurious! I made our way to the apartment stopping off at Lidl to stock up on beer and wine for the week. A nice woman gave me a euro coin to release the shopping carriage. People are just so considerate here and not in a schmaltzy way at all!

Once back at the apartment I gave Paul the grand tour, made him some eggs and heated up a sausage roll. I instructed Paul to go and nap and he agreed. Im going to do likewise now to prepare myself for a wonderful afternoon and evening. I plan to drive to Westport which is an hour north in Mayo. One of the women here recommended it as it has beaches and many shops. Sounds perfect!
